Patriot’s IT LastPass Starter Guide

 

 

Step 1

 

You will receive an email from LastPass (from sender[email protected]”). It will contain your new Username and an Activation Code.

 

Click on the “Activate LastPass” link.

Step 2

 

This will open a new webpage to complete the below required fields for setup:

 

  1. Email (prefilled)

 

  1. Activation Code (from email in Step 1)

 

 

Once ALL fields are completed click “Continue.”

 

 

 

Step 3

 

Another web page will open, prompting you to install the tool to your web browser. Please click on “Install LastPass.” 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The following steps are for users using the Microsoft Edge Browser.Click here for Mozilla FireFox or Google Chrome

 

Step 4

 

A new tab will open to install “Add-Ons” for websites.  Click the “Get” button to enable this function.

 

 

 

Step 5

 

A box will pop up at the top of the webpage.  

 

Click “Add Extension.”

 

 

Step 6

 

Once the add-on is installed, it will appear in the upper-right corner of your web browser.

 

Click the “LastPass” icon (an ellipsis).

Step 7

 

Another pop-up box will appear (navigating you to the LastPass portal). You will then be required to enter your Email address and Master Password.

 

Next, click “LOG IN.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After entering your email, the password field will disappear.

 

 

Click “LOG IN.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 8: 

 

Microsoft 365 login credentials will appear.

 

Enter your email address and click “Next,” then enter your password.  

 

Next, you will be prompted to select your preferred Multi-Factor Authentication verification method and then enter that code when received.

After logging in, another tab (or webpage) will appear within your browser navigating you to your LastPass Vault.

*The LastPass Vault is where all usernames and passwords created within your web browser are stored.

 

Upon logging into the LastPass Vault for the first time, users can receive a tour of the site by clicking “Get Started.”

Addendum 1: Instructions for Mozilla FireFox

 

 

Step 4

 

A new webpage will be prompted, allowing you to install “Add-Ons.”     

 

Click “Add to Firefox.”

A pop-up box will appear at the top of the webpage prompting you to allow add-ons, click “Add.”

Once the add-on has been installed, click “Okay” (in the upper-right hand corner).

 

 

Click on the “LastPass” icon (an ellipsis).

Addendum 2: Instructions for Google Chrome

 

 

Step 4

 

The webpage will then open an “Add-Ons” site.  

 

Click “Add to Chrome.”
