SharePoint and OneDrive provide many settings when sharing a file via a link. To share a file via a link, select the Copy Link option.

Then select the bottom section

The Link Settings give you control over who can access the file. Select the appropriate option:

If you select Anyone with the link, you will be able to set the following features:

  • Allow Editing - Enabling this will let anyone who has the link edit the file.

  • Expiration Date - The link will only allow access to the file until the date

  • Password Protection - The link will only allow access if the recipients also know the password you set.

If you are emailing a file that includes confidential information (PHI, etc) , do not send the password through email. Passwords must be sent in a separate chain of communication, like a phone call or voice message.

  • Block Downloads - Do not let those with access download the file. To enable, Allow Editing must be disabled.

If you select People in Patriot Grow…Services, LLC with the link, anyone a part of that group will be able to access the file.

  • Only the Allow Editing and Block Downloads are available

If you select People with existing access, the link will use its default permissions.

If you select Specific people, only people you include will be able to access the file. These are only people within our domain.
